Where: Algonquin Park, Ontario

When: January 2015

Details: Christopher MacDonald was hiking along a trail in Algonquin Park when this snowshoe hare suddenly came around a small grove of trees. “It paused and looked directly at me, then suddenly started running straight at me,” he says. “It caught me by surprise, but I still managed to get off a couple of pictures. It ran to within six feet of me, then veered off into a clearing and sat there for a bit cleaning itself before disappearing back into the brush.”
