Not only did Captain John work hard to put us on fish, he took his duties as a tour guide pretty seriously. On the way back to the marina, we made one final stop to check out the blue crabs in a trap belonging to one of his friends. Speaking of seafood, U.S. Route 17 (Business)—the main commercial strip in Myrtle Beach has several dozen seafood buffets specializing in volume, but for some truly stellar, surprisingly affordable South Carolina crabs and oysters, try a couple of the places where the locals eat: Mr. Fish and Bimini’s Oyster Bar and Seafood Cafe.
