Although one of my fishing partners, family blogger Felicia Dewar, of Edmonton was a relative novice, a remote stretch of the Winnipeg River will turn anyone into an ace angler. The family-run Eagle Nest has outstanding fishing for northern pike and huge smallmouth, but our morning’s prime goal was to boat some eater-size walleye for a shorelunch. What I didn’t know was just how big a deal that lunch would be.
