Lake Obakamiga (above) is a large and really interesting Shield lake with both deep and shallow sections, many bays and an abundance of structure. Better know as “Buck” Lake, it teems with pike, walleye and perch—all of which grow to trophy size. The lake is only accessible via float plane, and the only camp is Buck Lake Wilderness Lodges & Outposts (below). That restricted access, along with the Lodge’s forward-thinking catch-and-release policy is why the action is so good.
