Here’s how Gussy summed up his experience fishing the Classic.“It was top notch. I’ve followed this event since I was ten years old and it’s been a dream for many years for me to walk across that stage. I’m a regular guy but I have put a lot of time and energy into pursuing a career in the fishing world. I think that I was more proud of getting to fish the tournament for all of the people, and there are so many, who have helped and supported me along the way. That includes all of my buddies who probably have better fishing skills than I do but just never got the shot to do it. It also includes all of the Canadians who send me messages of support around every tournament that I fish in the U.S. That was a great feeling. The results were not what I wanted but I can’t wait to go and give it another try.”
