#15 VIZSLA
The Vizsla is a sleek, red-coated gun dog developed over centuries by Hungarian nobles. Adept at both pointing and retrieving, the breed arrived in North America in the mid-1900s, and has since become regarded as one of the most versatile of all sporting dogs. When training, the Vizsla responds best to a gentle hand and kind words, making it a biddable family dog, eager to please.

Highly intelligent, affectionate and people-oriented, this dog has a strong prey drive and requires plenty of daily exercise. It can adapt to a variety of different game bird habitats, from open prairie to thick woods. It’s also an excellent swimmer. For maximum camouflage while hunting, the Vizsla’s eyes, eyelids, nose, lips, toenails and pads blend in with its red coat.
