There are no roads to Nunavut, and very few within the territory—this is true northern wilderness. The list of big-game animals for which there is a hunting season is impressive: caribou, moose, muskox, polar bears, grizzlies, black bears and wolves. Plus, the seasons are long and the bag limits generous.
Caribou are the most sought-after big game, but their populations are fluctuating. As a result, it’s crucial to check the latest hunting regulations to be certain which herds are open for hunting.
